Léon Coupal is a Montreal-based singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, and let’s just say, he’s been at it for a while now. Decades, actually, and his professional experience includes ventures in a wide spectrum of music genres; Fusion-Jazz, Blues, Folk, Pop, Prog Rock, and Country.
As Band Leader for 3 years, he toured with Kashtin, supporting their highly acclaimed debut album, traveling throughout Canada, France, and the USA. He’s also played with a lot of Québécois Blues artists, including Black Cat Bone (Paul Deslauriers), Charlie Harper and the Rhythm Rockers, as well as The Blue Gators.
Léon has spent a great deal of time in the studio, too. He’s an accomplished composer and a great songwriter, having also written music for theater and documentaries, branching out and exploring different genres on diverse projects.
Every day, Léon enjoys studying and learning new material, reflecting on the mechanisms of creating music and works of art. Whether it’s playing live, working in the studio, or practicing and learning, Léon’s mastery definitely stems from his dedication and perseverance. Malcolm Gladwell’s ten-thousand-hour rule definitely applies here.
